* WHAT...Heat index values up to 107 expected.

* WHERE...In Maryland, Cecil, St. Marys, Calvert and Southeast
  Harford Counties. In Virginia, Orange, Culpeper, King George
  and Southern Fauquier Counties.

* WHEN...From noon to 8 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses to occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The combination of air temperatures in the
  90s and high humidity will result in the potential for
  increased heat-related illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

Thunderstorms are possible, a few of which could bring locally heavy

Afternoon heat indices may peak around 100 in a few locations this
today.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Thunderstorms are likely at times Friday into Friday evening, but
are also possible at times overnight Friday night, and in southeast
Kentucky on Saturday. A few of the thunderstorms on Friday and Friday
evening could produce locally heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts.
There is also a possibility of thunderstorms at times from Monday
through Wednesday.

Afternoon heat indices may peak around 100 in a few locations on
Friday.

for those outdoors Friday. A Heat Advisory is in effect for parts
of Central Virginia from noon to 8 PM Friday. Hot and humid

Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon
and evening. Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat. Isolated

area. Damaging winds are the main threat with any severe storms.
Heavy rainfall is also possible with some storms leading to localized
flash flooding.

Showers and thunderstorms possible on Friday with another cold front.
Some storms could be strong or severe with damaging winds being the

Hot and humid weather expected this afternoon, with afternoon heat
indices peaking near 105F in the southern Tennessee valley and
southern Sequatchie valley. See Heat Advisory for additional

Showers and thunderstorms across the northern counties of
East Tennessee into southwest Virginia may contain a strong to
low end severe gust this afternoon to early evening, though storm
intensity and coverage should diminish or dissipate after sunset.

Additional showers and thunderstorms can be expected Friday into
Friday night. A few of these storms may become strong to
