A Heat Advisory is in effect this afternoon and Thursday afternoon for locations west of the Cumberland Plateau. Heat index values are expected to be 105 degrees or higher during the aftenoon.

Middle Tennessee Weather History For July 4th...
On July 4, 1997...A swath of hail, from marble to dime size, strikes
between the towns of Sandy Springs and Ridgetop. The hail storm
damages 100 acres of tobacco. Damage estimate to the tobacco crop by
the Robertson County Department of Agriculture is $440,000.
